Mat is a PhD student investigating the role of antibiotics in strategic healthcare decisions. 

After graduating from Bristol Vet School in 2007, Mat worked in companion animal practice in both the private and charity sectors in the UK. In 2017-2018 he completed the MSc in One Health at the RVC and LSHTM. He subsequently joined the RVC as a research assistant, working on food safety and antibiotic use research in Vietnam, Bangladesh, and India. He is currently undertaking a PhD investigating the role of antibiotics in strategic healthcare decisions in India's poultry sector.
