I am a Lecturer in Small Animal Surgery and work predominantly as a clinician in the QMHA. I really enjoy all aspects of Soft Tissue Surgery and enjoy the variety of cases we see at the QMHA. I am interested in the welfare of dogs with congenital conditions such as brachycephalic obstructive airway disease (BOAS) and what we can do to improve things for these dogs. I like the challenge of the emergency surgical case load at the QMHA and working with residents and students.
I graduated from the Royal (Dick) Veterinary School, University of Edinburgh. I spent some time in mixed and small animal only practice before completing a rotating internship and residency in small animal surgery at the RVC. I became an EVCS Diploma holder in 2015 and have continued to work at the QMH since completing my residency.
My current research interests are focused on brachycephalic (short muzzled) dogs and their breathing problems.
I competed a post-graduate certificate in Veterinary Education in 2017. I really enjoy small group teaching in the clinical setting of the QMHA.
I really enjoy the variety of the cases we see at the QMHA and it is very satisfying to work in such a dedicated team to achieve good outcomes for our patients.
